The Power of Prayer!

Hey, I know I haven't posted in a while so here is going to be a long post and well maybe the longest ever! So I have went to youth challenge, school, and student council state convention. Well, there is more to come about my student council state convention to tell later. Yet, my pastor has had me do a few Wednesday night sermons. I have done one called Loving God, Loving Each Other, The Power of Prayer. I also have done a few devotionals at JC Alive. The next one for JC Alive is called Steps to a Victories Prayer Life. Well something was brought to my attention while listening to Adventures in Odyssey. I love AIO. They are amazing and there facts on stories are always right and suitable to me. I was listening to It Is Well on Life Lessons on Friendship. I also listened to The Other Woman on Welcome Home series. Well it is well tells of who wrote it and all he and his family went through. If you don't know the story here is a summary. He went through what Job went through. Okay there is that. After he went through that he penned the song IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL. Great hymn. Few years or so after that Horatio Spafford the man who penned it went through some more struggles. He got sick with depression and a mental break down. He died int he middle east thinking that he was the Messiah. He was dear friends with D.L.Moody. His family and friends prayed for his healing. Yet, he didn't get better. So that fact that the man who penned one of the greatest hymns in the world never was healed of his anger or his depression.

Ya, He was sick I believe he made it to heaven. His family was upset and so was he. His prayers and his family and friends prayers werent answered. That is upsetting to someone who went through as much as he did. Yet, God don't answere our prayers on our time but in his time. God is a God of prayer answering. It happened in Gods time. We need to remember that Gods timing may be differnet than ours so keep a clear head. Remember

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Matthew 21:22 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
22And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

1 Chronicles 4:10b And God granted him that which he requested.

James 5:18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Proverbs 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

Romans 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

James 5:17-18 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

News in the Southern Gospel world!

Here is some good and bad news in the world of Southern Gospel.

N'Harmony is back.
Six years ago, N’Harmony disbanded when lead singer Shane Dunlap became the original lead singer for Signature Sound Quartet. They just announced that they are returning.
The lineup of the new N’Harmony is lead singer Shane Dunlap (N’Harmony and Signature Sound) is Tenor Brent Mitchell (Mercy’s Mark), Baritone Chris Whitaker (Won by One and Crystal River), and Bass Will Van Wyngarden (Journeymen Quartet). Dunlap said, “I have been thinking about a return for along time, but I wanted to find the right guys with the same exact goals. Every single guy in this group has their priorities in order.”
They are finishing a project of Southern Gospel favorites and will begin touring in mid-October. Clips of the group can be heard at www.myspace.com/nharmonyquartet.

Time to Rewind and Find the Longing of the Heart!!

Okay, well the title to this post sounds dumb or wacky. So hope all is doing well. I want to ask you for your prayers for my family we are going through some tough times.

I also want to apologize for the dumb post I just had up. My computer froze and well it posted it while it was doing the pictures. I will get pictures up here soon. I promise.

Well now time to elaborate on my post title.

"Time to rewind and find the longing of the heart"
I have had some bad and good things happen in my life. Most of you know. I am not from a Christian home and things can get rough from a day to day basis. That is one reason I ask for your prayers. Another is when things good wrong what do I do? I feel I need to share where my heart is on this. God has helped me a lot this past year. I had Had and anger issue. God has taken that from me and I asked for a more tender heart. Well, he gave that to me. I wounder if he gave me a too tender heart at times. When things go bad I pray. A Gaither Vocal Band song comes to my mind. "I'm Not Gonna Worry", that song has helped me out lately for the problems at home. I shouldn't have to worry about it at all but I do. Mom gets stressed, I get upset and worried about what we are gonna do. I feel God has helped us in the last few years. I just want to take my self back and Praise and Thank God for all the things he has done for me.

Until Then

Canoe, John Myers, and More!!!

Hello, my blog readers (John Myers, Angie Davis)(I put John first he is older) I have some fun things to tell you and some funny things to tell you. As my previous post said I was going be canoing. Well, the adventure starts there.

We left Ridgville about 6 a.m. So we made it to Muncie and got donuts. Then we made it to Elwood and a tire blew on us! Then we spent about 40 minutes there and we went to the hospital and used the rest room while waiting and then went a played kick ball. Then the bus was done. So we left Elwood and didn't not have to pay them a thing for the tire! PRAISE GOD! So we proceeded to Turkey Run State Park! We got there about 11:20 a.m. We ran to the bathrooms and them played football and ate lunch and then played a game of volleyball. Uses guys were awesome at it. Then we went to get the canoes and went canoeing. It was fun! There was two to a canoe. I sat at the back we had a three hour trip and well in that time we swam and well me and my partner tipped the boat seven times! SEVEN TIMES! I had a blast. After that we returned our boats and went hiking. Those were great trails. It was amazing sites. We then went back and found the bus and went home. On the way home we stopped at McDonald's and ate diner. It was fun. We made it back to Ridgville about 10:40 p.m. I got home at 11:15! ( I only called Jessica 2 times and we talked for a total of 42 minutes.)

Take two

John Myers!

I packed for our family camp this past Sunday and left at 4 p.m. for Johns house. He has worked me a bit. I think it is relaxing to be at his house. There isn't the home life stress for me. I love being at home but you know it is great to get away. Monday we fixed the bus. Then on Tuesday we worked or did something i cant remember what we did but I know we did something or another. Tuesday at about two in the afternoon we headed to Zanesville, Ohio to pick up Monica's sister for camp. That was my longest trip I have ever taken. I got to meet Monica's and Melissa's mom and dad. They are very wonderful people. We all went out to eat at Wendie's and then went to a store called Gabriel Brothers. That is a very nice store I wish we had them in Indiana. Today which is Wednesday we worked in the garden. I picked green beans for the first time in my life. Then I snapped them and cleaned them. Then we headed to Johns mom and dad's house for diner. We had steak. John cooked that and potatoes and green beans. The meal was great it was filling. So we have plans for tomorrow as well. I guess I shall tell you about that too since I am having fun on the blog thing. We are getting up early and we are gonna finish packing and then we are going to Bern for Swiss Days. I have never been but John has food he wants me to try. This will be fun. Then we plan on being back at 1 p.m. to leave for camp. YAYAYA!!!!!

Camp is July 25-August 3. It will be great to be back in camp for the first time in two weeks.

I also want to tell you about last Sunday. Our quartet sang. It was not very good. We didn't have any chance to practice. But, I will quote one person I look up to for music. When asked what did you think, he said, "For not practicing it was okay, but I was real surprised how Brandon Miller keep his lead part when the rest left there part." I was so happy. It was fun. We will gt better by the grace of God!

Well that was my longest blog. I think I will let you go for now.

Hymns and songs that make you wonder what the writer was feeling.

Now let us have a little talk with Jesus Let us tell Him all about our troubles.....well sorry I was listening to that song. I thought this could make for a good post. Hymns and songs that make you wonder what the writer was feeling.

I Feel Like Traveling On--Who really feels like traveling on. I sure wanna be in heaven.
Just a Little Talk With Jesus--Who really wants to have a little talk with Jesus. I want a long on.
There's a God Somewhere--We know where he is. He lives in my heart!
Happy Rythem--What was this person taking.
I Can Never Out Give The Lord--Neither Can I.

Well for now-----I can never, never, never out give the Lord, He sacrificed His very life, To give what I couldn't afford, I bring all I can bring, To my Savior my King, But somehow I end up with more, It sounds like a cliche, But I still have to say, I can never out give the Lord

I Was Fighting A Fight I Could Not Win!

I am going to get into a subject that is more serious than usual. The title reads "I Was Fighting A Fight I Could Not Win", you may wounder where I am going with this. Well, let me explain.

Before the summer started I was blaming myself and I thought I had to get my parents and family too heaven. I soon realized I can't. I was not the one who died on a cross. It was Jesus. Thanks to my great roll model's John Myers and Daniel Edwards. They helped me understand ya I can try but it will be there choice and I can't save them. Praise God for the help he gave me there.

Well, two weeks later I was at another youth camp. I had a friend well who's brother isn't a christian. She wanted me to pray with her. I did. I prayed for a good 6-10 mins. I then realized what needed to be said. God brought it all back to me. He said,"Remember Friday at camp. When you got help during the day. I soon realized yes Lord I do and from there one I knew what to say. So I went on to say, Friend you can't save your brother neither can I. You can pray and pray but it will be there choice. She didn't die on the cross for him and neither did I. When he is ready and when God makes it time he will have to choice to go to God. It helped her a lot and it helped another friend who was out there.

Praise God for his wisdom and his helping hand when I need it.

I Love God with all my heart. I hope I can witness to others.

I am Rested and Back!!

I know, I know, I know. I haven't posted in like we well almost 13 days. So I am going to tell you a lot. I mean a lot of new things. We will go back to staying at John's house.

Well, we ended the camp well. It will be open next year all the funds were raised. So praise God for that. Brother David Fulton did a great job. He would make a great pastor around here. I love and miss his picking on me. I really do. He is a great man of God.

The next morning we pulled out about 7 am for YOUTH CAMP. Ya, that was fun. I got the best bed there. So the adventure starts. Youth camp went by fast. Monday we picked up teams and well I got to be on the team I wanted. Tommy Browns group. So I was happy. Then we proceeded to have fun. Tuesday went quick and so did Wednesday. Thursday we played softball. Our team won. So then that night we did skits. We did a serious on that was great but got last. So ya it was a blast. Friday was BIBLE QUIZZING TOURNAMENT. The score went from us 4-11 to us 11-20 then us 25-27. I answered 23 out of 25. I was on a roll. It was a blast. Then it came time for the banquet and I took a friend. Then the awards. I only got team cooperation. Out team placed last. So sad.

Well, I did not forget to mention the preaching. I was saving it for last. Brother Mark Avery was awesome. He preached on what I needed. Lots of teens got help. Me, Nick, Chris got sanctified on Friday night. Andy got saved on Wednesday. Bro. Avery is awesome.

Well, Sunday us boys Andy, Nick, Chris, and I started a Quartet. We are called MENDING SOUL'S QUARTET. We sing together on the end of the month on Sunday morning and we are gonna sing STEP INTO THE WATER. We are having fun with this it helps us keep going and something to do.

Well, I have to go this may be my longest posted ever,
Pray for us boys we need the prayer.

A simi trailer about blew over and then we headed north. Just a little north a Bryant we seen a biker crash and stoped and called 911. We had to move quick a telophone poll about smaked us. So we drove to camp but we didnt get far a down tree. So we went down to Johns moms house and another down tree. We cancelled church at this time. So we stayed at Johns moms and cut up lots of tree and tree brances that fell. It took about 3 hours. So it was fun. Brother Fulton had been in the brush all night lol. He worked instead of preaching.

Then we came home got cleaned up and ate cake and ice cream...yummmm.....After that we sat down and talked. Brother Fulton is a very smart man. He cleared alot of questions I had up. So thanks Brother Fulton if you ever read this.

Hair Products

I thought this would be fun. I want to tell you all I am very picky and neat with my hair. This is gonna be fun. I was told by John Myers on the phone today he was reading an old singing news article and well it was with Karen Peck and New River. They had a gas line leak of some sorts and Devin of the group yelled it is smoking grab all the important things. Everyone grabbed Laptops, Bibles, Ipods and other things. Karen swears up and down Devin grabbed hair product. Well that would be me.

Well here is a summary of my hair product. I use hairspray and gel every day. I go though a bottle of gel every two weeks and a bottle of hairspray a week. Hairspray is $2. Gel is $2. I go thought 4 $2 bottles of hairspray and 2 $2 bottles of gel a month. That equals out to $12. That does not include my shampoo and dandruff shampoo.

So am I just as bad as a girl?

I find myself in a very odd spot.

Hey, hope all is well for my blog readers if not well pray. God has been helping me in a very different way. I have had a few struggles lately and he has brought to me different people to help me though it.

God has just blessed me with good loving Christian friends. Old one (John Myers and Angie Davis) and young ones my best friend Tyler and Esther.

But I was put in a situation of where I had to chose to do the CHRISTIAN thing or the NON CHRISTIAN THING. I chose the CHRISTIAN THING. But praise GOD for his marvolus things.

WEll keep it real

Feed Up

I am getting feed up. With how people think they can live a nice life and be happy all the time. They annoy me. They don't have to smile or be nice all the time. That is what a friend told me one day at school about a week ago. I had just remembered she said that and I thunk on it.

She was talking about Christians. I was able to share with her why we (Chistians) do that stuff. It was amazing to see her reactions. She was amazed in what we live for. I told her and share about Jesus and why we live a happy go lucky life even though its not always berries and peaches.

I think God has something instored for her.

Thought I would share my thoughs.

The Potters Hand

While I was at Union Bible College Preview Days I was able to sit in on some classes. Being a music nut I went to choir. We were able to come up and sing with the choir. We sang great songs. One stuck out to me. The Potters Hand. I though I would share the words with you. Hopefully they minister to you.

Beautiful Lord, wonderful saviour I know for sure, all of my days are held in Your hands Crafted into Your perfect plan
You gently call me, into Your presence Guiding me by, Your Holy Spirit Teach me dear Lord To live all of my life through Your eyes
I'm captured by, Your Holy calling Set me apart I know You're drawing me to Yourself Lead me Lord I pray

Take me, Mold me Use me, Fill me I give my life to the Potter's hands Hold me, Guide me Lead me, Walk beside me I give my life to the Potter's hand

Wednesday April 16,2008 Was a life changer.

As the title says my life was radically changed at IHC on Wednesday this year. God moved thought Bro. Daniel Stetler and man did he preach on what I needed. God has made it clear that me and the ways of ole will never make it.

God has taken so much off my shoulders and has blessed me richly. I feel him leading me to sanctification. And I feel that is what he is leading me to. I have given so much to him and I plan and I am willing to give him more and to give him it all.

Well also I met alot of my myholiness friends at IHC this year.

Today

Today felt so weird not being able to attend church this moring due to may family not having money, but I was able to attend revival tonight and it was awsome. I felt God's present's in the church.
Other than that life has been going well. God has helped me these past few weeks. My devotion life has been slacking but I have picked it back up and I am heading strong in the faith. So until next time KEEP IT REAL.

Myholiness.Com

Well, today was tiring and eventful. So I find this blogging thing relaxing, so I'll continue to do it. I entitled this one myholiness.com and there is a reason for there here is the reason. If your CHM(Conservative Holiness Movement) or not you might just like this site and the forums are great as well.
The forums are great as I stated but there was a topic called, Would you Recommend myHoliness.com to Your Christian Friends? My answer to this is Yes, and not only to my christian friends but to all my friends. I've tried to get my pastor to join or at lest check it out and I don't have a clue if he has, but maybe he will someday.

Well Till Next Time

Life

Well, today was a good day. God helped me through school and there is a situation I must tell about. Well, as most of you all know that I go to a public school and I am the only CHM teen there. Well, as you can imagine that not everyone agrees with me on what I believe so, I decided to show them some scriptural proof of what I believe.

So we started in on the the dress code's. lol I showed them Duet. 22:5
Then we moved on after agruing that fact. We went straight in to a womens hair lol the girls had somethings to say.

After all I may have not won that battle, but I have showed them that I do study the Bible. So as you can see I am happy that I got to share the word of God to some non-christians and some christians.

Peace Out All

New Goup

Hello there I had just recevied a phone call from a friend telling me former members of Mercy's Mark as follows
Brent Mitchell, Josh Feemster, Craig West, and Chris West

Brent Mitchell is filling in, he is not the tenor. They don't have a tenor as of yet.

The goup has no name as of yet but you can play a big part in that here is the information for you that I recevied:

From a SN Forums post by Dinana:
Just wanted to let y'all know about an exciting new group ---- as yet unnamed ---- that will be having its debut at the First Baptist Church in Oneonta, Alabama. The Mark Trammell Trio wlll also be on the program that starts at 6:30 pm on Friday, May 9.There is a naming contest for this new group and prizes will be awarded to the winner (more info to follow about how to submit your suggestions). So put on your thinking caps and see if you can name the group.

This is awesome, awesome news! These guys are all great singers, and it's nice to see Josh, Brent, and Chris back on the road. I know we've all wanted Chris West back in a group, so here we are!Videos of this lineup can be seen here and here. These were taken at a Garry Jones concert a few months ago.I wonder if these guys will get a piano player....

"For all of you imaginative people out there, your names for the group can be sent to Norm Basden at 2528 Hale Creek Road, Altoona, AL 35952. I just ordered my tickets and they're $15.00 each (same address). There will be several prizes but I can't remember what Norm told me they are..."

There is all the information enjoy. Im putting a name in.
