The Power of Prayer!

Hey, I know I haven't posted in a while so here is going to be a long post and well maybe the longest ever! So I have went to youth challenge, school, and student council state convention. Well, there is more to come about my student council state convention to tell later. Yet, my pastor has had me do a few Wednesday night sermons. I have done one called Loving God, Loving Each Other, The Power of Prayer. I also have done a few devotionals at JC Alive. The next one for JC Alive is called Steps to a Victories Prayer Life. Well something was brought to my attention while listening to Adventures in Odyssey. I love AIO. They are amazing and there facts on stories are always right and suitable to me. I was listening to It Is Well on Life Lessons on Friendship. I also listened to The Other Woman on Welcome Home series. Well it is well tells of who wrote it and all he and his family went through. If you don't know the story here is a summary. He went through what Job went through. Okay there is that. After he went through that he penned the song IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL. Great hymn. Few years or so after that Horatio Spafford the man who penned it went through some more struggles. He got sick with depression and a mental break down. He died int he middle east thinking that he was the Messiah. He was dear friends with D.L.Moody. His family and friends prayed for his healing. Yet, he didn't get better. So that fact that the man who penned one of the greatest hymns in the world never was healed of his anger or his depression.

Ya, He was sick I believe he made it to heaven. His family was upset and so was he. His prayers and his family and friends prayers werent answered. That is upsetting to someone who went through as much as he did. Yet, God don't answere our prayers on our time but in his time. God is a God of prayer answering. It happened in Gods time. We need to remember that Gods timing may be differnet than ours so keep a clear head. Remember

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Matthew 21:22 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
22And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

1 Chronicles 4:10b And God granted him that which he requested.

James 5:18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Proverbs 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

Romans 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

James 5:17-18 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
